Former agribusiness banker Susan Wakeford has been appointed the Pink Meat Advisory Council’s new chief government officer, following Alastair James’ current resignation.
Ms Wakeford’s follows an intensive trade government search and interview course of by the RMAC board. She begins in her new position on 19 August.
RMAC chair John McKillop welcomed Ms Wakeford’s appointment and thanked outgoing CEO Mr James.
“Ms Wakeford is an distinctive appointment for RMAC, she brings a wealth of expertise, management, strategic engagement and firm governance” Mr McKillop stated.
Previous to becoming a member of RMAC, Susan ran her personal rural monetary and enterprise consultancy, Bale & Twine, and spent virtually 20 years in agri-banking, finally head of agribusiness for Westpac.
“Ms Wakeford’s expertise will strengthen RMAC’s position as Australia’s solely coverage management and advisory discussion board, representing your complete crimson meat provide chain from paddock to plate,” Mr McKillop stated.
Mr James knowledgeable the Board of his transfer to Herefords Australia as chief government.
“In his time with RMAC, Alastair fostered a united trade focussed on collaboratively strengthening the crimson meat and livestock trade’s voice whereas relentlessly progressing key trade initiatives,” Mr KcKillop stated.
“The RMAC Board needs Mr James properly in his new endeavours and appears ahead to working with Ms Wakeford in persevering with to advance the pursuits of Australia’s crimson meat and livestock trade.”
