Farmers from throughout Australia have been rewarded for making top-quality hay in a season that marked a return to good rising circumstances.
Growers from New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia shared the highest honours within the 2023-24 Feed Central Nationwide Hay High quality awards offered throughout the 2024 Australian Fodder Business Affiliation convention in Coffs Harbour.
One farmer, Wade Alexander from Riverleigh Queensland, has taken out two nationwide awards.
Feed Central managing director Tim Ford stated all winners had excelled. “Making hay isn’t simple and making good hay is an actual talent so the winners deserve a pat on the again for his or her success,” Mr Ford stated.
The Feed Central Nationwide Hay High quality awards embrace each nationwide and state winners for visible look and feed check overlaying the three main hay sorts, vetch, lucerne and cereal.

The heaviest cereal bale at 770kg was grown by Harry Divall from Carrick, NSW and the heaviest straw bale at 589kg was grown by Gus Thompson of Oakben Agricultural Co from Rawsonville, NSW.
The Accredited Provider Award went to Scott and Dianna Baxter and household from Lislea Lodge at Picola in Victoria.
State award winners shall be introduced and offered on farm throughout a nationwide growers’ tour in August.
Mr Ford stated the 2023-24 hay making season produced considerably higher outcomes than the earlier 12 months.
